Cotellessa started giving recitals with guitar in 2004, performing
a variety of musical styles that span several centuries of music
for tenor and guitar. Repertoire has varied from the English renaissance,
lieder of Schubert and Mozart, French folk song arrangements by
Seiber as well as folk song arrangements of Britten and a cycle
for tenor and guitar by the contemporary American composer Daniel
Pinkham.
In 2006, he began his collaboration
with Spanish guitarist José Manuel Dapena. In addition to
focusing on a recording of the complete cycle of Schubert's Die
schöne Müllerin, they will expand their repertoire to
include music from the Spanish renaissance as well as music by Rodrigo
and his contemporaries.
Upcoming engagements include
recitals in USA and Europe for 2008/2009 season.
